South All-Stars Carr and Jensen combine for highlight plays

An all-star game is supposed to have spectacular plays, loud hits and big-time athletes. The 35th annual Charlie Wedemeyer High School All-Star game Wednesday night at Spartan Stadium in San Jose had all of that - and a monster of a finish to boot.

In his final game as a high school athlete, Ryan Stillwell went out and put on one last show.
Known around the South Bay for running Leigh High-San Jose head coach Shawn Thomas' spread offense to a tee, Stillwell was a maestro behind center one last time with his coach, family and friends watching.

- 10:01 p.m. - Fourth and seven, 11 seconds to go....here it is...The North is attemptiong a field goal.
- 9:59 p.m. - Here comes the North. 46 seconds left, ball on the South's 18. First and 10.

USA Today crowns Mitty National Champs in final poll

The law of averages states that eventually every team, no matter how strong, runs into a loss somewhere along the road.
For the 2009 Archbishop Mitty softball team, being average just never factored into the equation.
The team stepped onto the field 32 times during the '09 season and never walked off losers.
Wedemeyer All-Star game approaches

Presented by the Almaden Valley Rotary Club, the 35th annual Charlie Wedemeyer High School All-Star football game will take place on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Spartan Stadium in San Jose.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm for the annual tussle between a select group of high school seniors putting on the pads one last time in their high school football careers.
